IV Therapy for Healthcare Providers (FY24)

This class offers one-on-one instruction to complete the competency required to safely perform venipuncture and maintain IV therapy. This course is approved for the North Idaho College LPN to RN application program, and those attending gain knowledge or refresh their skills in intravenous therapy. IV Therapy for Health Care Professionals meets Scope of Practice requirements for Certified Medical Assistants in states that approve of MAs providing this level of care.

Upon successful completion, students receive a Certificate to be included in the application for advanced placement in the ADN Program. MA's and others receive a certificate indicating successful course completion. When registering, please inform us of your medical training (LPN, RN, MA). Topics include indications and application of IV therapy, calculation, infection control, and parenteral therapy, including blood products.
