Certified Restorative Assistant

Attend in-person or online! Increase your career potential with this advanced course for Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) focusing on rehabilitation and restorative care. Course topics include assisting nursing staff and physical, occupational, and speech therapists in the rehabilitation of patients with neurological, musculoskeletal, and orthopedic conditions. Course fee includes textbooks and Idaho Career and Technical Certified Restorative Assistant exam.

Prerequisite:

• Proof of being a current CNA or EMT
• A copy of your current Health Providers CPR card
• A computer or regular access to a computer with high-speed internet capabilities is required

Location:
This class is a hybrid course. Students meet in class at the North Idaho College Workforce Training Center in Post Falls, ID (can be taken online via Zoom for those working in facilities outside of the Coeur d'Alene/Post Falls/Spokane metropolitan area that have someone to supervise hands-on skills introduced in class (contact the Health Careers Department at the Workforce Training Center prior to registering to make arrangements - WTC_HealthCareers@nic.edu or 208-769-3221)) area once a week for lab (clinical experience days and times will be discussed in class). The theory component is completed in the online classroom.

Clinical Preparation:

• Black Scrub top and any color scrub bottom.
• Security badge (provided)
• 2-step TB test within the past 6 months
• Current Health Providers CPR card
• Influenza vaccination in season
• A COVID vaccination, exemption, and/or declination may be required at some clinical sites. Students will explore clinical site options with their instructor
• Facility Orientation/Confidentiality packet (completed on the first day of class)

It is best to register at least one week before class begins.
