Patient Care Technician

Advance your career! Patient Care Technicians possess a diverse range of skills and knowledge to provide care to patients in hospital emergency departments, clinics, long-term acute care, and rehabilitation centers. Build upon your nursing assistant technical and interpersonal skills while advancing in your career. This program includes embedded micro-certifications for Phlebotomy for Health Care Professionals, EKG, and Wound Care. Registration fee includes the fee to sit for the national Certified Patient Care Technician examination upon successful completion of the course as well as course textbooks. It is best to register at least one week before class begins.


Prerequisite: Students must be a Certified Nursing Assistant or EMT. Provide proof of Certified Nursing Assistant (example: Certificate of Idaho Nurses Registry) or proof of EMT Registry provided by NREMT to the North Idaho College Workforce Training Center Health Careers department when registering.
