Dental Assistant - Expanded Functions Series

Class Information

Complete the expanded functions series for dental assistants. Geared toward those who know their way around a dental clinic. The series includes:

• administration of nitrous oxide/oxygen analgesia,
• polishing restoration and removal of ortho cement,
• application of pit and fissure sealants,
• coronal polishing, and
• temporary crown restoration.

Prerequisites

• Proof of employment as a dental assistant. The following information will be requested during the registration process. 
  • Clinic name, contact name (dentist or dental hygienist), employer address, employer contact email, and employer contact phone number
• A supervising Licensed Dentist or Dental Hygienist to oversee lab skills.

Location

This is a hybrid class.

• You will receive instruction with a registered Dental Hygienist Instructor online through live Zoom sessions with additional theory work completed in the online classroom.
• Lab skills will be overseen by your supervising Licensed Dentist or Dental Hygienist.

Students residing in the Coeur d'Alene metro area may attend in person at the Workforce Training Center in Post Falls.
