Please read: 

Additional Class Details

  • 100% attendance is mandatory to obtain the required skills necessary to safely practice and receive a certificate.
  • If you have a personal laptop, you are asked to bring it to class. Otherwise, computer access will be provided in class.
  • Gray scrub top and pants will be required. These may be purchased at Walmart or an online vendor of choice.
    • A lab coat will be furnished.
  • A drug screen and criminal background check will be provided in class. You must demonstrate clearance to remain in class.
  • You will participate in a 50-hour externship with a local dental office. The externship schedule will be based on availability and will vary from the class schedule.
    • Health Screen Documentation required for externship rotation:
      • MMR vaccination (2 doses) or Titer
      • Varicella vaccination, Titer, or History
      • Hepatitis B vaccination
      • Tetanus, Diphtheria & Pertussis (Tdap) vaccination 
      • Influenza Vaccination in season
      • TB test within 12 months
  • Certification exam is included with registration.


Class Schedule

The schedule is tentative and is subject to change due to the nature of the industry and the availability of program location sites. Please note that some Tuesdays and Thursdays will occur in the Dental Hygiene clinic at the North Idaho College Coeur d'Alene location. A finalized schedule will be issued to students on the first night of class.
