Heavy Equipment Apprenticeship - Year 1

Heavy equipment operators provide necessary skills for any project that requires moving and transporting heavy materials, or any kind of earthmoving. Operators work on regular construction building jobs, as well as in infrastructure (roads, bridges, and ports), mining, and timber. This three-year program will guide trainees through 144-plus hours of related instruction annually, covering theoretical and hands-on training on heavy equipment, civil blueprint reading, soils, and paving. Students must also complete 4,000-6,000 hours of on-the-job learning. The class “Core: Pre-Apprenticeship,” is also required to complete Heavy Equipment Year 1.
