Looking to embark on a fulfilling and practical career journey? Dive into the world of the skilled trades with the CORE: Pre-Apprenticeship Exploration program. This dynamic course offers an intensive, competency-based curriculum designed to fast-track your readiness for industry roles. From mastering essential safety protocols to honing skills in hand and power tools, material handling, precise measurement techniques, and effective communication, you'll build a robust foundation for success.
As a prerequisite for apprenticeship programs in Construction and Heavy Equipment, CORE equips you with fundamental knowledge and hands-on experience. Delve into diverse trades, including Heavy Equipment, Construction, HVAC, Plumbing, and Electrical, opening doors to a multitude of career pathways. Alongside immersive learning, you'll earn industry-recognized certifications in OSHA-10, First Aid/CPR/AED, and NCCER, enhancing your profile as a sought-after candidate in the competitive job market.

The Pre-Apprenticeship Summer Program will conclude with a Resume Writing Workshop and Job Fair!

Funding
The program fee is $2,195 and must be paid in full before June 3rd, 2024.

Location
You will meet in person at the North Idaho College Parker Technical Education Center in Rathdrum, Idaho.
Class Notes
- Class Dates: June 10-28, 2024 (Monday-Friday), 8:00am-5:00pm
- There are only 12 spots available for the program. Class registration is on a first-come, first-served basis (if the class fills, a waitlist will be made available).
- 100% attendance is required.
- Please plan for a 1-hour lunch.
- Wear appropriate attire for the classroom, lab, and job site. All students must wear long-sleeved shirts, durable, long work pants, and sturdy ankle-high work boots when attending this apprenticeship. Please be prepared for the weather, rain or shine. If you are unable to acquire these items for class, please notify us for assistance.
- Sleeveless or tank top shirts, short pants, stretch pants/tights, sweatpants, sneakers, sandals, and high-heeled or open-toed shoes are not permitted.
- Required personnel protection equipment (PPE) will be provided for use during the Pre-Apprenticeship Program (hard hat, safety glasses, hearing protection, high-visibility safety vest, and work gloves).
