| Gain fundamental skills in structural steel welding. Techniques taught in this 60-hour course will be in oxygen and acetylene cutting and welding and safe practices for shielded metal arc welding (SMAW). Prepare for and perform two skills tests for American Welding Society (AWS) certification. Students provide their own personal protective clothing, including welding jacket or cotton overalls, gauntlet style welding gloves, and clear safety glasses. Textbooks are provided for in-class use.
