Fundamentals of Welding with Basic Certification

Gain fundamental skills in structural steel welding. Techniques that are taught will be a course in oxygen and acetylene cutting, welding and safe practices for shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW), and flux core arc welding (FCAW), in all positions. Prepare for and perform two skills tests for American Welding Society (AWS) qualification. Students provide their own personal protective clothing, including welding jacket or cotton overalls, gauntlet style welding gloves, and clear safety glasses. Textbooks are provided for in-class use.
