Please read:
On the field trip day:
-Participants need to dress for outdoor activities that will take place in the snow.
-Participants need to bring skis, a snowboard, or snowshoes so as to navigate in the snow.
-Participants need to bring their own sack lunch and water for the day.
-Course fee includes instruction and avalanche equipment. Fees do not cover ski/snowboard/snowshoe rentals or meals. No equipment? No problem! Backcountry skis, snowboards, and snowshoes are available to rent from Outdoor Pursuits for an extra fee.
Be prepared for Idaho's changing weather. Bring snacks and water, sunglasses or goggles, a warm hat, fleece, or wool base layers, water and windproof outer layer jacket and pants, gloves, and anything else you may need to stay warm in the chilly snow and wind.
**All Outdoor Pursuits clinics are weather dependent. While our instructors will do their best to reschedule sessions that are cancelled due to poor weather, we cannot guarantee that all sessions offered will be completed.
Classes that include an outdoor component will meet in the Outdoor Center on the south side of McLain Hall and travel into the Idaho backcountry from there.
