This course is required for any unlicensed assistive personnel who is delegated the task of assisting with oral, topical, suppository, ear drops, eye drops, nasal, gastrostomy tube, or pre-mixed inhaled medications. This program is targeted for individuals who care for clients in a home or assisted living setting, but is beneficial to anyone assisting with medication. Reading medication instructions and labels is a critical skill to safely practice in health care.

This course satisfies the requirements of IDAPA 16.03.19.402.01

Please read:  Passing score on the written exam is 80%. The written exam can be taken only one time. Failure to pass the written exam requires re-taking the course.

Minimum age for Assistance with Medications class is 16.

Many employers perform pre-employment screenings such as criminal history, drug screen, driving record, and credit checks. It is the responsibility of the student to verify that they are employable in their preferred occupation.
