Class Information Flagger Certification
Gain the skills and expertise to enhance the safety of workers and road users during construction, maintenance, and repair projects. This course is 100 percent safety-driven with topics including flagger qualifications and requirements, positions for safety, road user safety, flagging signals, elements of traffic control, specialty lighting, intersections, grade crossings, and short-duration and mobile work. After successful completion, you will be issued a flagger card required by the Idaho Transportation Department and accepted in many other states, including Washington, Montana, and Oregon.
Prerequisites
- Age Requirement: You must be 18 or older to register.
- ID Requirement: Bring a valid state ID card or driver's license to class.
- Physical Requirements: Before registering, review the Evergreen Safety Council's physical requirements for flaggers. An employer may have fewer, additional, or different requirements.
- Registration Information: The last five digits of your ID card or driver's license number are required during registration.
Class Notes
- Mailing Address Verification: Your flagger card will be mailed to the address on file approximately two to three weeks after passing. Confirm your mailing address during registration.
- Learning Materials: Access to learning materials is included.
- Lunch Break: Plan for a one-hour lunch break.
- Three-Year Certification: Flagger certification is valid for three years.
