Class Information Discover Kayaking
Enjoy a quick introduction to kayaking on Lake Coeur d’Alene. You will learn basic terminology and simple technique followed by a short paddle on the lake. All abilities are welcome, but this class is designed for beginners.
Prerequisites
- Age Requirement: Students must be 18 years of age or older.
- Swimming Ability: Students must be comfortable in the water while wearing a personal flotation device.
Location
- NIC Beach in Coeur d'Alene, ID: Meet at the beach. From the NIC Lee-Kildow Hall parking lot, cross the dike road (Rosenberry Drive) and take the stairs to the beach.
Class Notes
- What to Bring: Prepare for Idaho weather and bring snacks, water, sunscreen, sunglasses, a hat, a raincoat, and a bathing suit or other comfortable clothing.
- Equipment Provided: All equipment used in class activities is provided.
- Weather Policy: Outdoor Pursuits clinics are weather dependent. Instructors will do their best to reschedule sessions cancelled due to poor weather, but rescheduling is not guaranteed.
- Private Lessons: Outdoor Pursuits can often schedule private lessons in sailing, kayaking, rock climbing, or other adventures.
- Discounts: Discounted rates are available for current NIC fee-paying students.
