EKG Technician

Class Information

This program was designed to help you pass the Certified EKG Technician (CET) exam and set you up for success as part of a fast-paced cardiology team. You’ll learn how to operate the electrocardiogram - an essential piece of hospital equipment—and work with doctors to interpret the results for patients. You’ll even complete a hands-on clinical experience arranged by Career Step. This 8-month program is divided into 14 easy-to-finish courses and an externship experience (and it covers skills many EKG tech programs don’t, such as Holter monitoring and stress testing).

Clinical hours are included with your learning experience to get hands-on practice, gain valuable knowledge, and apply your training through exposure in the healthcare field. When you become eligible, our team will coordinate to secure all required documentation and work to connect you with one of the participating partner sites. Successful completion of the program qualifies you for either the Certified EKG Technician (CET) from National Healthcareers Association.

• Age Requirement: Must be at least 18 years old
• Computer and Internet Access: Access to a computer with high-speed internet is required.

Class Essentials

• Course Access: Within 24-72 business hours after registration, you will be contacted by CareerStep with instructions on accessing the course material and support information.
• Length: After registration, you have 8 months to complete the course.
