This comprehensive Driver’s Education course is designed to equip new drivers with the knowledge, skills, and confidence necessary to become safe, responsible, and competent operators of motor vehicles. The program combines online classroom instruction with behind-the-wheel training to meet or exceed Idaho state requirements for teen driver education.
Through structured lessons, students will learn the fundamentals of vehicle operation, traffic laws, defensive driving strategies, and decision-making techniques. Emphasis is placed on hazard recognition, situational awareness, and building lifelong safe driving habits.
Course components include:

- Starts at 5:00 pm on the Wednesday of the week your class starts
- Approximately 1 hour long
- Parent/Guardian must attend Orientation if the student is under the age of 18.

- You can train for a maximum of two hours per day
- Instruction times are available Monday through Friday from 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm and 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm
- Specific times will be selected during Orientation with your instructor
- Post-Completion
- Drivers under the age of 17: complete 50 hours of additional supervised driving with an adult, including 10 hours at night
- Take the state's written and skills tests
Instruction is delivered by certified driving instructors using a curriculum aligned with the Idaho Driver’s Handbook and the state’s Graduated Driver Licensing (GDL) requirements. Successful completion of this course qualifies students for a supervised instruction permit (SIP) and positions them to take the next steps toward full licensure.
Eligibility
- Students must be at least 14½ years old on or before the first day of class (students under the age of 15, please call to register).
- A valid driving permit is required by the first day of class
- Items needed to obtain your driver's permit:
- Certified Original Birth Certificates (available from the Bureau of Vital Statistics)
- Acceptable photo identification
- Social Security Card or Number for verification
- Proof of Idaho Residency
- Liability Signer (if under 18) – must be birth parent or court-ordered guardian
- Verification of School Compliance (VOC) (if under 18)
- Acceptable Lawful Presence Documents (if applicable)
