This course is required for unlicensed assistive personnel tasked with administering medications, including oral, topical, suppository, ear drops, eye drops, nasal, gastrostomy tube, and pre-mixed inhaled medications. Designed primarily for individuals caring for clients in home or assisted living settings, it is also beneficial for anyone involved in medication assistance. Understanding medication instructions and labels is a critical skill for safe healthcare practice.

This course meets the requirements of IDAPA 16.03.19.402.01.

Early registration is recommended, ideally at least one week before the class begins.

The written exam can be taken only one time. Failure to pass written exam requires re-taking the course. Minimum age for Assistance with Medications class is 16.
