This presentation will introduce you to the concepts and practice of avalanche safety for backcountry recreation users. Students will learn the basic terminology, where to find the forecast and how to read it, how to prepare for a day in avalanche terrain, and how to continue their avalanche education.

This class complements the Introduction to Backcountry Skiing and Snowboarding as well as the Avalanche Rescue Fundamentals and is strongly recommended if you plan to attend those courses.
