Class Information
A Career Pathways program in Healthcare. The Health Unit Coordinator (HUC) or Patient Care Coordinator assists in facilitating patient care services. Help manage a patient’s healthcare and treatment needs by maintaining open lines of communication between a patient and their healthcare providers in hospitals, doctors’ and dentists’ offices, nursing care facilities, and specialty care centers. Learn strong organizational, computer technology, and interpersonal communication skills to help ensure patient needs are met. Take on administrative responsibilities in assisting with a patient’s case management.
Prerequisites
- Unique Email Address: Each student must have a unique email address for registration.
- Computer and Internet Access: Regular access to a computer with high-speed internet is required.
Location
This course is primarily online with one introductory lab.
- Online Access: 5/20/2025-7/8/2025
- Orientation: one-hour, in-person orientation on 5/20/2025, 9:00am-10:00am at the North Idaho College Workforce Training Center in Post Falls, ID
