MSHA Instructor Training Course

ClassGraphic This three-day course is a prerequisite to becoming an MSHA Approved Instructor. Participants who complete the training and are approved by their respective MSHA district office will be recognized as MSHA-approved instructors and can conduct 30 CFR Part 48 Health and Safety Training. 

Requirements/Pre-requisites:
  • Be an Experienced Miner, as defined by 30 CFR § 48.2 & 22 (b) (1), (b) (2)
  • Have three years of verifiable working experience at a Part 48 Mine (Documentation required: 5000-23s for New Miner and Two Annual Refresher Trainings)
  • Possess a verifiable and relevant level of previous training experience, especially in occupational health and safety. The training experience should be relevant to the mining industry.
Additional Course Information
  • A laptop is required.
  • This workshop is not designed to provide subject matter expertise in the various mining topics. It is assumed, that you have the appropriate and relevant mining experience before taking this course.
  • Completion of the course does not guarantee instructor endorsement. Final approval issued by MSHA
