Class Information
Core is a rigorous, competency-based, industry-recognized program for career and technical education. Its modules cover topics such as basic safety, communication skills, and introduction to construction drawings. This course is embedded in the Construction Apprenticeship Year 1 class and is required as part of the Construction Apprenticeship program. You will receive your NCCER CORE Certification upon completion of this course.
Prerequisites
- Unique Email Address: Each student must have a unique email address for registration.
- Computer and Internet Access: Regular access to a computer with high-speed internet capabilities is required.
- Age Requirement: Must be 16 years old or older
- 16 and 17-year-old apprentices are required to enter a STRAP agreement with parental approval and signature.
- Construction Apprenticeship Year 1 is taken simultaneously with CORE Pre-Apprenticeship.
- It is a requirement to pass both CORE Pre-Apprenticeship and Construction Apprenticeship Year 1 before moving to Year 2.
Location
Hybrid Course
- You'll meet in-person twice a week with an instructor at the North Idaho College Parker Technical Education Center in Rathdrum, ID.
- Assignments are completed online in the Canvas classroom.
